Meeting Friday mornings at Irby Village Hall, Thingwall Road, 9.30am to 12.00 noon. The group consists of improver and experienced players dedicated to enhancing our learning whilst having fun playing and singing. We play and sing our favourite songs as well as learning new songs and techniques.

The group welcomes new people. Both non-playing singers as well as helping new players learn the basics very quickly and play along.

Social Media

The group has its own website: thewus.co.uk    – Here details of the groups activities, the music and learning tips and exercises can be found, along with much much more.

We also believe that individual and group talents should be recognised and shared. So we have our very own Youtube Channel called HUGUKULELE where various videos of individuals and the group performing can be found.

Started during Lockdown, the group has its own Streamed TV Channel called hugukuleletv123 on Twitch  where we meet whenever circumstances prevent us from meeting in person.

We have a lively social aspect to the group. Meeting to celebrate activities and are in demand to play at fundraisers and events throughout the year. For example, Northwest U3a strum and sing along, lead by ourselves. Cool Heswall and the Summer Strum which is a prestigious Ukulele Festival held at Rainford and featuring Ukulele Bands from far and wide.
