Brian is a Wirral based travel photographer who has presented a number of his vividly illustrated talks to Heswall U3A.

Based on his trips to South America in 2019 and 2023, he now takes us to the Andean altiplano (high plains) of Peru, Bolivia and Chile. In this richly informative and colourful talk, Brian shares with us the alien and diverse landscapes of this little visited area. He captures the remoteness of this and barren, high altitude region rising from 14,000 – 16,000 ft. together with the amazing wildlife that manages to survive here. We are also introduced to the Aymara and Quechua, the proud indigenous people, who live in these high altitudes, and view their unique and colourful culture.

This talk promises to be an enlightening glimpse of diverse cultures and wildlife in this region which is far from the usual tourist destinations which I am sure we will all enjoy.
