This is a statement about Heswall u3a’s policy towards Privacy and Cookies, in relation to EU regulations on the subject.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact forms
We use Contact Forms on this site, this is to allow you to contact us easily and Vice Versa. We collect your Name, Email Address, Telephone Number and your Message. You should not enter any information into your message which you would consider to be of High Value, such as your Bank Account details or National Insurance number. The information that you enter into the contact form is emailed to Heswall u3a. In the short term a copy of the information is stored within the website.

Cookies

What are Cookies?
A Cookie is a small piece of information which a web site stores on your computer. Generally Cookies are quite benign but some sharp operators are using them in clever and devious ways that you may not approve of. For example, they can be used to track your interests as you browse the web.

This is equivalent to ticking the box at the bottom of an order form allowing the supplier or their partners to contact you with further offers.

How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

What data breach procedures we have in place
All data is held within the UK and is processed within the UK and as such come under UK Data Protection Legislation.

The data that is held, consists of Name, Email address and Mobile Telephone number, and is held online for the shortest period possible to mitigate against such leakages of data. If any breach does to take place, we will inform those people identified within the information disclosure without undue delay. The data that we will hold is considered to be of low risk.
